Find your God given purpose
Life has to be more than just to be born, grow up, get an education, work on a job, have a house and a family and just die. The truth is that there is a much greater purpose with your life. God has created you unique with unique gifts to fulfill a unique purpose. To find your Gid given purpose is not about coming up with something on your own or work in your own strength but to find and step out into what God already put inside of you and created you for. Your God given purpose is like the hand in the glove, it fits perfectly.

Over all the world people are asking themselves the questions: “Why am I here?” and “What is the meaning, purpose with my life?”. When you look up the meaning of the word “purpose” it says: “the reason why something exists”. All people realize sooner or later that there has to be a greater purpose in life than just to be born, grow up, get an education, work on a job, have a house and a family and just die. The answer is of course that there are but only God and the word of God can give us the answer to what your God given purpose is here on earth.
Before I talk more about what yr specific purpose is I want to share two general purposes all believers have. The first one is to serve, in other words to minister to and help other people. If you certainly want to live an unhappy life then you should live only for yourself. The Bible talked a lot about servanthood because we are all created to serve. To serve other people is one of our general purposes that gives us inner satisfaction. In Matthew 20:26-28 it says: “…whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave, just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many”. When we belong to the kingdom of God a lot of things change. One thing is that to become great you should serve the most. Jesus was our ultimate example in this.
We have all been given unique gifts and talents by God. These gifts are not for ourselves but for others. I believe the best way to serve others is to find out our God given gifts and bless people around us through them. 1 Peter 4:10 says: “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God”.
The other general purpose is that we are all called to spread the gospel. You and I can not decide how many that chooses to receive the gospel and are saved but we can decide to share the gospel and try to win as many as possible. I believe it is time now more than ever for all women to step out into a predestined position and help, along side all men, to spread the kingdom of God. God needs all people on deck to help with the fishing of men before it is too late. Just imagine the sight of seeing a great crowd of women, who’s focus is to spread the gospel, rising up and reach out to people.
With these two general, yet very important, purposes mentioned I want to talk about the specific plan, purpose and calling God has for each and every one. To find your God given purpose is to discover and step into what is already inside you and have been there since your birth. Your God given purpose is like the hand in the glove, it fits perfectly. God has created you unique with unique gifts to fulfill a unique purpose. When we realize this all competition and comparison ends. One of the worst things you can do is to try to be like everybody els. Why try to fit in when God designed you to stand out.
When you get hold of and see your God given purpose it becomes a vision. You can get it through a word from the Lord, through realizing which people you are drawn to, through writing down what you love to do and have a passion for or by realizing what problem upsets you and doesn’t have a solution yet. You, your gifts and your purpose might be the answer to that problem. I encourage you to not give up but pray, seek and knock until you know what you were created to do here on earth. Proverbs 29:18 says: “Where there is no vision, the people perish…”. If you don’t have a vision how can you know where you are going, you will perish. Remember it is not about coming up with something on your own or work in your own strength but to find out and step out into what God already put inside you and created you for.
Your God given purpose is already predestined by God. Psalm 139:16 is a verse that appears in almost all my messages to women because it contains such valuable revelation about our God given purpose: “Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them”. How wonderful, before you were born God had a detailed plan for your life. You are not a mistake or coincidence but the eyes of God was on you and all your days were predestined before they had come.
Your God given purpose is given by grace. No matter what God has called us to do is his calling and gifts given by grace, we have not deserved them. 2 Timothy 1:9 says: “…(God) who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace…”. Nobody is more or less qualified in the kingdom of God. God does not see to what men see to but his thoughts and ways are high for all of us. How much we then do with our calling has to do with our response and obedience. But remember no matter what you have done or not done with yr life so far it is never to late to find our, say yes to and fulfill your God given purpose. Romans 11:29 says: “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable”. God’s calling and purpose remains all your life, it is irrevocable. Maybe you have never searched to find it our or maybe you have abandon it,but your God given purpose is still there for you. You can not change your past but you can change your future.
When you have found out your God given purpose I encourage you to not stop there. To find your God given purpose is just the beginning. Act, do something, according to your calling. Start already today! Too many times I meet old people who have lived most of their lives knowing their God given purpose but they are still waiting for God’s timing to take the first step. Understand me correctly, by experience I of course know that God has a specific timing for certain things, but it is no excuse to not do anything year after year. Sometimes I say: “Rather a dint in my forehead caused by running into a closed door than chafing in my but due to sitting too long”. It may sound a little funny but contains a big portion of truth and seriousness. The Bible talks about several people who acted. Peter, despite that he had clothes on and the boat was near the shore, jumped out into the water eager to meet Jesus. Paul was always in the go in Acts 16:6-10: “Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them. So passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas. And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them”.
Let us be women who acts. Let us plan and make concrete goals. What are your answers to following questions: “What do you want to have accomplished before the end of this year? what are your planes the coming year? Where are you and what do y do in five years?. My husband and I makes plans all the time. Plans for coming gospel campaigns, mission trips and different faith challenges. When we have made the plans we pray according to Proverbs 16:3 where it says: “Commit your works to the Lord,
And your thoughts will be established”. We are no naive and believe that all our thoughts will be established but we are convinced that when we reach forward and make concrete plans God will lead us and change our thoughts according to his thoughts.
You are unique with unique gifts for a unique purpose. When you start to cooperate with God by seeking him and his will with your life he will show you his higher thoughts with your life. When you have found your God given purpose, your own lane he designed you to run at, take the first steps today and let us run with endurance with our eyes on Jesus!
