God opened a door in Pakistan!
We rejoice with all of heaven for the 15 168 people who received Jesus as their savior during these two Gospel Festivals in the poor countryside in two unreached villages in Pakistan. The follow up and church planting has already started. The kingdom of God is expanding in Pakistan.
Just three weeks before we were going to Pakistan two suicide bombers attacked again, this time two churches in Lahore. Due to the bombings a new law was implemented that no one, not Muslims nor Christians, are allowed to use loudspeakers outside. During prayer our coordinator Imran received a word from God in his heart to move the Gospel Festivals from the two planned cities to two unreached villages. With this word in his heart and a big portion of stubbornness and faith he visited the police several times and finally he received the permission to hold meetings outside with loudspeakers.
Through a miracle the police chooses to give him permission. When Marcus and I, together with a wonderful team, enter the country we realize that it is only through God’s favor and miracle that we had been granted this permission. Both politicians and the police tell se us several times that it is impossible to get this kind of permission right now. Directly at our we arrival to Pakistan the former prime minister of Pakistan personally wants to meet and welcome us and wish us good luck in our work. With God everything is possible!
Our first Gospel Festival was held in Shantinagar, a small village outside the Multan city. Despite the heat, lots of mosquitos and malfunctioning stomachs God gave us strength and amazing victories. Every night thousands gathered to hear the gospel and to be cured from their diseases. It was so obvious that we were on untouched ground. The people stood wondering and watching us interestingly when we shouted hallelujah and sang our songs, they listen intently when the gospel was preached by Marcus, Daniel and me. They were so hungry for Jesus!
The response was great every night. Almost everybody wanted to receive Jesus. During the first festival 6 800 responded and filled in a follow up card. After the salvation and miracle prayer many healings and deliverances took place. Several testified that they were set free from demons. Others ran gladly on the stage to demonstrate that God had healed their legs and knees. One girl that had been almost blind got her sight back. One woman testified that she had come with a tumor in her throat but during prayer it had disappeared.
After the wonderful victory in Shantinagar we went on to Village 195, located outside the city Sahiwala. Also this place was unreached with only one Catholic and one Presbyterian church. Even that our festival ground was far out on the countryside thousands gathered every night hungry to hear the word of God. All four nights were real “unreached festival” nights and about 90% of the people responded on the altar call. We all felt a strong tangible presence of God when we called upon the name of Jesus for salvation with these thousands of unreached peoples. God was faithful as always and confirmed his word with signs and wonders.
One demon possessed woman started kicking, beating and screaming in the middle of the crowd and all eyes were on her. After prayer by Daniel and the prayer team she finally was set free. This testimony made a huge impact in the entire village. Another woman was deaf on her left ear but was totally healed and demonstrated how she now could hear perfectly. Yet another woman had been suffering of rheumatism for more than twenty years but one of the nights she experienced a totally healing to all of her body. So many miracles took place and there was a long queue up on stage to testify what Jesus had done in their lives. During this second Gospel Festival 8 368 precision souls prayed the prayer of salvation and filled in a follow up card.
In both places we held Fire Conferences for pastors, leaders and evangelists. The whole team ministered together on both conferences by preaching and praying. There was a great need of sound and anointed teaching of the Word of God. During three days with three seminars every day the leaders, pastors and other believers received faith filled teaching. Every day we could see how their faith grew. We prayed for the baptism of the Holy Spirit and many were filled with power and fire and spoke in new tongues for the first time. Both conferences ended with us giving out Marcus’ book “The Final Lap of the Great Commission” which they received with great joy.
