Darkness is scattered in Bangladesh

Threats from Muslims. Competition with the Hindu festival. Compact spiritual darkness. Large swirling swarms of insects. Noone sings the song of praise as they have never heard any worship before. Big, brown and staring eyes. Moist and sticky air. Minimal response during the preaching. This is a campaign among the unreached! For each word we preach, however, we experience how the darkness goes away and the light takes over.

Threats from Muslims. Competition with the Hindu festival. Compact spiritual darkness. Large swirling swarms of insects. Halfsounding speakers. Sound is coming and going. Noone sings the song of praise as they have never heard any worship before. Big, brown and staring eyes. Moist and sticky air. Minimal response during the preaching. This is a campaign among the unreached! For each word we preach, however, we experience how the darkness goes away and the light takes over.

When we prayed for salvation, almost the entire crowd responds and people come forth and accept Christ in their hearts. When they then call on Jesus’s name for salvation, it is the sweetest music in our ears. Keep in mind that the simple story about Jesus transforms people’s lives even today. What a message we have! What great power! What a privilege! I can only completely agree with Paul’s words in Rom 1:16: “I’m not ashamed of the gospel. It’s the power of God that saves everyone who believes … “.

The second campaign was special. We were in a small town, Noiabari, who only had two Christian families before we came there. The place of the campaign was the village’s schoolyard. From the first to the third evening we really had to plow the harvest field of people. A prophetic picture came to us in the team as we prayed that we should dig a huge hole in the spiritually dry ground so that people could drink of the living water, which would flow like a fountain.

This truly happened the last evening, when about 5,000 were gathered and heard Marcus preach powerfully the message of heaven and hell. The moment of salvation this evening was incredibly strong when thousands of Hindus and Muslims repented of their sins and called on Jesus’s name for salvation. Then we continued in a singing and worship and no one wanted to go home. The kingdom of God had truly come to Noiabari and the flow of the living water from Jesus was flowing through the dry ground. The prophetic greeting from God certainly came true in front of our eyes. What a wonderful God and Savior we have in Jesus!

After proclaiming gospel, the power of God for salvation, for two weeks in Bangladesh, we saw thousands of seeking salvation in Jesus. 13, 000 follow-up books were distributed to all newly saved. Both campaigns started with a less modest crowd, but for each evening the number of listeners increased. For each evening, the number of names written in the book of Life and the number that went home healed also increased.

An elderly woman testified about how she was blind for seven years, but how Jesus healed her eyes and she could see clearly again. A man had hurt his back in his work and could not do anything due to the terrible pain, but one of the evenings he felt the power of God over and all pain disappeared. Another woman had such pain on her side that made her unable to walk properly, but now she ran smoothly over the stage to demonstrate her healing. Many others testified as to how pain, pain and disease left them after Jesus touched them.

After taking a boat over a smaller river, we came to a simple church building where about fifty pastors and leaders had gathered for the fire conference. The need for faith and fire filled teaching is great on the mission field, especially in Bangladesh. During three days, Marcus and I preached from the depths of God’s heart about the mission, vision, anointing the calling God has for them.

For the first time abroad, we also had a WOW (Women Of Worth) conference. For three days, Beatrice and I taught and ministered to some fifty women, of whom about half were leaders. It is wonderful to see how the word of God transforms peoples lives. These simple, colorful and precious women were taught how they are called with a holy calling and how they can step out into their calling. The conference ended with a powerful outpouring of the Spirit of God. All women were strongly touched by God, many cried, several were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with new tongues and several prophetic words were also given. All glory to Jesus Christ!!!
